Introduction:
Since Thais established its hegemony throughout the continent, many people from surrounding villages and other large cities have complained about it. One of the cities whose inhabitants placed the greatest emphasis on thais’ enormous power over them was Venore, the world’s economic center par excellence. Many people of Venore and many other characters hiding in Thais are part of the rebellion, an aspect that increasingly threatens the Thais empire and its top leader, King Tibianus III. For this reason, the TBI (Tibian Bureau of Investigation) is always alert to find clues to the evil plans against Thais’ crown or anything that, on their part, could be a threat.
The Gamel Quest was introduced to the game for one reason only, and this is to give some use to the almost completely useless Life Crystals, who apart from Decoration and its use in this Quest have no greater reason of existence. It can be quickly assumed then that this Quest is mostly performed by players who want to exchange their Life Crystals for Life Rings and thus get good money from them.
Helping bit
The Quest takes place in Thais, so you must be in this city to start. Once there, head to the Thais Army Building (A), located north of the Depot, east of the King’s Castle. Once there, ignore Harkath Bloodblade and go up to the second floor to meet you at the headquarters of Chester Kahs, the leader of TBI. With the Life Crystal in your hands, talk to him.
Player:
Hi (Hello)
Chester Kahs:
Salutations, stranger.
(Greetings, stranger.)
Player:
Gamel is a rebel
(Gamel is a rebel)
Chester Kahs:
Are you saying that Gamel is a member of the rebellion?
(You say Gamel is a member of the rebellion?)
Player:
Yes (Yes)
Chester Kahs:
Do you know what his plans are about?
(Do you know what his plans are?)
Player:
He wants to bring a magic crystal to Lugri so he can cast a deathcurse on the king
(He wants to give Lugri a Magic Crystal so that he uses a deadly spell on the king)
Chester Kahs:
That’s terrible! Will you give me the crystal?
(That’s terrible! Will you give me the crystal?)
Player:
Yes (Yes)
Chester Kahs:
Thank you! Take this ring. If you ever need a healing, come, bring the scroll, and ask me to ‘heal’.
(Thank you! Take this ring. If you ever need healing, come, bring the paper and ask me for ‘Heal’.)
Player:
Bye (Goodbye)
Chester Kahs:
Take care out there!
(Take care there!)
As you can see, you’ve been able to trade the Life Crystal for a Life Ring after these words. You must have lost your Life Crystal. It should be mentioned that if you wear a Life Ring, you can say “Heal” to Chester Kahs to cure you completely, however, you will lose your ring, which currently has more value.
Helping the Rebellion
First, head to the Thais Depot. Just northwest of it, you’ll find a building. Get in it and go down the stairs you’ll see as you enter. On the lower floor you will find Gamel, a… Seller. Talk to him wearing a Life Crystal and the next thing will happen.
Player:
Hi (Hello)
Gamel:
Pssst! Be silent. Do you wish to buy something?
(Pssst! Keep your voice down. Do you want to buy something?)
Player:
Magic Crystal
Gamel:
Did you bring me a magic crystal?
(Did you bring me a magic crystal?)
Player:
Yes (Yes)
Gamel:
Brilliant! Bring it to the priest Lugri so that he can cast a deathcurse on the king. The password is ‘death to noodles’.
(Brilliant! Take it to Priest Lugri so that he can conjure a mortal spell on the king. The password is ‘death to Noodles’.)
Player:
Bye (Goodbye)
Gamel:
Bye. Tell others about… my little shop here.
(Goodbye. Tell others about… my little shop here.)
Knowing this data, exit the building’s subway and head to the north portal of the city to exit. From the right point, walk north to Alatar’s Lake. To the northeast of it you will find a swamp with a circle of rocks and a hole in its center (C). Go down the hole to find yourself in a very small cave, with four paths. On the paths above, below and on the right appear 2 Beholders and a Ghoul. Take the road on the left to meet Lugri, a ruthless character. Talk to him.
Player:
Hi (Hello)
Lugri:
What do you want, [nombre]?
(What do you want, [nombre]?)
Player:
Death to Noodles (Muerte a Noodles)
Lugri:
So, I guess you bring me a magic crystal?
(So, I guess you bring me the magic crystal?)
Player:
Yes (Yes)
Lugri:
Fine. Now you get what you deserve, you fool! DIE IN AGONY!
(Good. Now you get what you deserve, you fool! DIE IN AGONY!)
By the end of this dialogue you will have lost the Life Crystal and you will be burned (Burned Status). Fire won’t do you much damage, but it can be quite lethal to those who aren’t prepared and have very few Hitpoints. In total, fire will do a total of 250 Hitpoints of damage, divided into hits of 10 Hitpoints every 25 seconds.
Although you get nothing from the conversation with Lugri or Gamel, at least you learn why this claim is born that Gamel is a rebel and why Lugri would kill the king. It’s obviously much more productive and smart to change life crystal with Chester Kahs to get a Life Ring.
